PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a learning support device which solves such problems that, when a learner stops learning in the middle of learning, it is difficult to continue learning since it is hard for the learner to know to what extent the learner has compreherended and from where to resume learning and that the learner cannot see other learners' state of learning, and which enables the learner to have continuous learning motivation by having communication like encouraging the learner whose learning motivation is declining.;SOLUTION: In the learning support device, a presenting method determining section 17 determines, based on learner's operation information inputted from an operation section 12 and learning state stored in a learning state storage section 15, the method to present teaching materials stored in a teaching material storage section 10 to a learning material presentation section 11 and determines the method to present the learning state stored in a learning state storage section 15 to a learning state presenting section 16. Also, the presenting method determining section 17, by using inter-personal relationship obtained through analyzing messages between learners, specifies learners with close ties and reads the learning state of the learners to determines whether or not the learning state of each learner is to be presented and the method to present it.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
