PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a failure in perfect fusing operation or champhering operation and the preparation of a solid which can not be manufactured actually by a machine by calculating a trimming path and its topology-like incorporation to a solid. ;SOLUTION: In a 3D-CAD system, a main processor 1900 is connected to a display screen through a graphic sensor 1902. A geometrical object 1906 in the middle of designing is displayed on the screen 1904. The main processor 1900 executes calculation for generating and correcting the geometrical object displayed on the screen. A program memory 1914 includes instructions to be used for the preparation and calculation of the geometrical object in the middle of designing. First of all, the whole trimming path necessitated for closing a gap is calculated and incorporated three-dimensionally. Namely dots and lines are decided concerning the limited area of all the faces around a pole to generate topology corresponding to the continuity of trimming so as to attain a three-dimensional various solid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
