PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clearly distinct between a single missing tooth position or the continuous partially missing teeth by comparing the period of a signal in which a single missing tooth position and continuous missing teeth position exist alter nately at a specified crank angle space, and setting plural flags according to the comparison result. ;SOLUTION: In the case of processing a crank angle sensor generated from a crank sensor comprising a pickup coil 9 disposed adjacent to a rotor where a single missing tooth position 7 in which a fixed number of signals are missing and the continuous missing teeth position 8 in which a fixed number of signals are missing continuously twice at each angle of 180°cA (crank angle) exist alternately, a designated crank angle signal is taken as 10°cA signal, the period of 10°cA signal is compared and according to the comparison result, plural flags are set.
