PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp a combustion amount on a post-combustion stoker by measuring characteristics of post-combustion stage gas extracted from an upper space of the post-combustion stoker, optimize an amount of primary combustion air supplied to the post-combustion stoker based on it, and stabilize the finish of incineration ash and the characteristics of the post-combustion stage gas extracted from the upper space of the post-combustion stoker.;SOLUTION: In this stoker type incinerator 1 provided with a stoker 4 composed of a drying stoker 4a, a combustion stoker 4b and a post-combustion stoker 4c, the post-combustion stage gas G2 generated on the post-combustion stoker 4c is extracted out of the incinerator and blown into the incinerator as recirculated gas. One or more of gas concentrations among the concentrations of O₂, CO, CO₂, HCl and SO₂ contained in the post-combustion stage gas G2 extracted from the upper space of the post-combustion stoker 4 is/are measured, and the amount of the primary combustion air A1 supplied to the post- combustion stoker 4c is controlled so that a value of the measured gas concentration coincides with a set value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
