PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trolley wire with high tensile strength and high conductivity, and to provide a method for manufacturing such a high-conductivity and high-strength trolley wire.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: preparing a cast steel comprising 0.12-0.3 mass% Ag, 0.01-0.05 mass% oxygen and the balance copper with unavoidable impurities, with a continuous casting process; hot-working the cast steel with a hot working reduction of 80% or higher at 600°C or higher to produce a wire rod with a diameter of 25 mm or larger; and cold-working the wire rod with a cold working reduction of 70% or higher at 150°C or lower to produce the trolley wire of the following (1) or (2): (1) a trolley wire having a tensile strength of 400 N/mm2 or higher and the conductivity of 97 IACS (%) or higher, when the trolley wire has a nominal cross sectional area of 150 to 170 mm2; and (2) a trolley wire having a tensile strength of 420 N/mm2 or higher and the conductivity of 97 IACS (%) or higher, when the trolley wire has the nominal cross sectional area of 80 to 120 mm2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
