PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhering material removing device for a chlorination furnace opening which removes not manually ore powder adhering to an opening such as a raw material inlet in the chlorination furnace which chlorinates a titanium ore and manufactures a titanium tetrachloride.;SOLUTION: The adhering material removing device S1 for a chlorination furnace opening is equipped with a first drive motor M1, a second drive motor M2, a cooling room 13 and a gate valve V1. The first drive motor M1 turns and drives a bit 11a which has a cutting edge part scratching an adhering material and a drive shaft 12. The second drive motor M2 moves the first drive motor M1, the bit 11a and the drive shaft 12 forward and backward to the chlorination furnace 1. The cooling room 13 is placed within moving range of the drive shaft 12 and the bit 11a, and the gate valve V1 lies between the cooling room 13 and the chlorination furnace 1, and the gate valve V1 is installed at the chlorination furnace 1 being mounted to the opening 2 of the chlorination furnace 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
