P To provide an electrode for an electric double layer capacitor which is capable of preventing fine particles, such as active material, conductive filler and the like and from falling OFF so as to have a high voltage retention factor (low self-discharge). PSOLUTION: Materials containing 50 to 97 mass% active material, 1 to 30 mass% conductive filler and 2 to 20 mass% binder are kneaded and then ground into granules for forming the electrode of an electric double layer capacitor. The electrode sheet of the electric double layer capacitor is constituted of granules which are used for forming the electrode of the electric double layer capacitor and substantially composed of particles 47 to 840 m in grain diameter.
