PURPOSE: To obtain a new 2-(nonsubstituted or substituted) (benzyloxy or phenoxy)-4-substituted-6-meta-substituted phenoxypyridine by specifically combining substitutent groups at the 4-position of a pyridine ring and at the 3-position of a phenoxy ring. ;CONSTITUTION: This new 2-(nonsubstituted or substituted) (benzyloxy or phenoxy)-4-substituted-6-meta-substituted phenoxypyridine is shown by formula I (R is a 1-4C alkoxy or cyano; X is a halogen, a 1-4C alkoxy, a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-4C haloalkoxy, a 1-4C haloalkyl, a 1-4C haloalkylthio, a 3-5C alkenyloxy, etc; Y is CF₃, difluoromethoxy, trifluoromethoxy, etc.; (m) is 0 or 1; (n) is 0-5) such as (2-benzyloxy-4-methoxy-6-(meta-trifluoromethylphenoxy)pyridine.
