PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a beautiful drawing, in which a polygon is already described, while reducing working burden on the side of preparing person. ;SOLUTION: When automatically preparing the polygon record of shape surrounding a reference line (a-b-c) composed of a line unit between adjacent feature points, parallel lines L1-L2' separated just for a prescribed length (w) on both the sides of each line unit are found and intersections B and B' of parallel lines corresponding to the line unit connected to the feature point (b) except for both the ends (a) and (c) of reference line are found. Next, end points A, A', C and C' corresponding to these points (a) and (c) are respectively set to the parallel lines on both the sides of line unit started from both the ends (a) and (c) of reference line, and these end points and these intersections B and B' are connected (A-B-C-C'-B'-A'-A) according to the arranging order of correspondent feature points on the reference line.
