PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a corresponding carboxylic acid from a nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic compound.;SOLUTION: The nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic compound is reacted with formamide in the presence of a strong acid and peroxodisulfuric acid or its salt to form a carboxamide, then the carboxamide is hydrolyzed with an alkali to form the corresponding carboxylic acid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
