PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for supplying molten metal which is suitable for a cold-chamber type vacuum die casting apparatus and can supply the molten metal into a sleeve after reaching a high vacuum by evacuating a sleeve and a cavity for a sufficient period of time before supplying the molten metal into the sleeve and has a sufficient service life expected from this structure, and a method for supplying the molten metal used for this apparatus.;SOLUTION: This method has the sequential steps for: filling one shot of the molten metal in a ladle disposed in a tightly closable chamber where a molten metal supplying part is also arranged in the sleeve of the die casting apparatus, or for disposing the ladle filled with one shot of the molten metal; a step for evacuating the closed chamber together with the sleeve and the cavity in the die casting apparatus; and a step for pouring the molten metal into the sleeve by tilting the ladle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
