PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous liquid for treating the surface of a roller whereby an undried emulsion coating material is not stuck to the surface of the roller, even when the emulsion coating material is applied on a substrate and transcribed by the roller before the emulsion coating material is dried, and a prescribed design is given.;SOLUTION: When the undried emulsion coating material applied on the substrate 1 is transcribed by the roller 3, the aqueous roller surface treating liquid containing an emulsion flocculant is previously applied on the surface of the roller 3.
