PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting silicon dioxide from waste glass containing silicon.;SOLUTION: The method for extracting silicon dioxide from glass is comprised of such processes as a fusing process to fuse glass which contains silicon and a hydroxide in an electric furnace for obtaining an alkali silicate, a dissolving process to dissolve the alkali silicate in water for obtaining an alkali silicate solution, a separating process to separate the alkali silicate solution for removing an insoluble material in water at the dissolving process, a depositing process to deposit silicic acid by adding an acid into the separated alkali silicate solution and a drying process to dry silicic acid for obtaining silicon dioxide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
