The invention relates to a protective collar for protecting the face of very young children. Said collar comprises a substantially flat annular part (10) which is open to one side (15) and which, in the area of said opening (15) on one side, comprises fastening means (25′, 25″) which allow to assemble the annular part (10) in such a manner as to form a collar in the shape of a truncated cone.
