A dental implant (16) which contains a bi-cortical anchor apparatus (12) for insertion into a jawbone (28). The anchor apparatus (12) includes a tool receptor (15, 41) for interacting with a tool (17) which facilitates insertion of the apparatus (12). An implant member (16) arranged for insertion into a jawbone, the member containing a cervix (30) to secure a dental prosthesis (32) and a through conduit (46) to support an anchor apparatus (12). A complementary system includes an implant member (15) and a template (60), the latter meshing with and helping align the implant member (16). A method for inserting the implant member (16) into a bore in the jawbone (28). The method includes drilling a channel (42) in the jawbone (28) through a drill-bit guide channel (76) and inserting a bi-cortical anchor apparatus (12) through the channel (42) and through a conduit (46) of an implant member (16), and then anchoring at least two portions of the anchor apparatus (12).
