The invention relates to indirectly metering all the operating parameters of any equipment system/network. The invention also captures the complete behavious pattern of each equipmentin the system. According to the invention the process involves the following stages. In the first stage the equipments and sustems are analysed in detail and all its characteristic behavious is mapped. Then all the operating parameters are computed against any input/ output parameter, from the trend line. Further by making use of this data and the characteristic behaviour of the equipments and sustems, performance analysis, optimisation and many other utilities are made.
