A mechanism for supporting the decision on performing a communication connection changeover of a subscriber terminal in a wireless communication network, in particular in a multiple band WLAN, is proposed. The subscriber terminal is able to communicate with an access node on two or more frequency bands. AP related communication information are detected which comprises, besides information indicating a multiple band capability, a traffic load, a frequency band coverage and/or a frequency channel information. The communication information are broadcasted, for example, by means of the AP beacon frame, processed and used for a decision on a communication connection changeover of the subscriber terminal
