Abstract:This invention relates to a lift operating on potential energy comprising of a cage(1) suspended from one end of rope (2), said passing over pulley (3), pulley (4)and terminating on top of variable counter weight VCW (5) with outlet valve (V2)which is capable of storing water, water tank (6) with outlet valve (V1) positionabove the ceiling level, water tank (7) placed on the base level, the outlet oftank (7) being connected of manual pump (8), the outlet of said pump furtherconnected to inlet of tank (6) via pipe line (18) and non-return valve (V3), fixedrope (9) position between the ceiling and base and passing through said cage formechanical braking, said cage having levers (10) for control of valves (V1,V2),characterized in that the upward or downward movement of the cage is effectedthrough decreasing or increasing the weight of the said VCW by means ofchanging the amount of water held in said VCW.[IN235544A1]
