A pedal operated bicycle comprises two wheels connected by a frame. Two air compressors are provided on the frame connected to hydraulic tank, which is filled with oil to about half volume, which is connected to again two cylinders. A flywheel is provided with clutch arrangement and tension springs are fitted on the lower side of the flywheel on both sides and the pedals are connected to the springs through levers so that on pedaling the bicycle, the spring are tensioned and rotate the flywheel. There are teeth provided on the flywheel which mesh with compression pinion which actuates the compressors to provide compressed air to the hydraulic tank. The compressed oil goes to activate the cylinders alternately via cross head valve, the pistons being connected to respective ratchets and free wheel gears to rotate the back wheel of the bicycle. The flywheel is also provided with an impeller on outer surfaces of the flywheel to absorb energy of air flowing in opposite direction.
