Adverts are placed on websites via an auction system which takes into account the combination of the highest auction bid or payment, the length of the advertising period and the possibility of overbidding by a given percentage in order to determine the advert location, so that the advertiser can determine the advert location on the chosen website accordingly. The highest bidder will have their advert in the number one location on the website.
