The insert container (1) for a paint bucket comprises a bottom (2), an upright enclosed wall (3) with an upper edge (4). At the top of the upper edge of the upright wall are inwardly directed holding devices (5) for the handles (7) of one or more paint brushes (6) in order to orientate brushes parallel to the upright wall. The handles of the brushes are provided with a series of holes and the holding devices are formed as pins or hooks, enabling them to hold the brush handles.
