The holder (3) has a brush pick body (4) holding a handle (6) of a brush (5), where the brush pick body is equipped to hold the handle of the brush essentially parallel to an upper surface of a paint container (1). A sensing body is provided with a locking element for securing the brush in the brush pick body, and brush holder positioning resources are provided for positioning of the brush against the brush holder.
