The contours of an orthosis base facing the body are designed according to the posture and body contours of the patient, the latter being recorded using a measuring device (1) with individually adjustable, adjacent parts (2), the free ends (2a) of these parts defining a surface contour. These parts are arranged in a matrix. An independent claim is also included for the measuring device, comprising a frame (3), the individually adjustable parts and a locking mechanism (4) for fixing these parts into the positions corresponding to the body contours.
