The vehicle-mounted equipment (1) is for compression of agricultural produce (2) to form bales and comprises at least one compression chamber (3) which by mean so fa pneumatic or hydraulic pressure press (4) presses the product in a transport direction (A). The product is also pressed together in a direction square (B) to the transport direction (A) by two hinged side walls (5,6) on opposite sides of the compression chamber. The product is formed into a bale (7) which is thrust out of the compression chamber. The emission of the bale is measured by a detector (8) in the form of a rotatable probe wheel or cylinder. Dependent upon the density of the bale the amount of agricultural material involved can be deduced. At the outlet aperture (9) of the compression chamber is a cutting blade (10), with which a measured piece of the bale can be severed. Also at the outlet aperture is a packing unit (11) ocupled for winding a sheet around the cut bale. A conveyor belt (12) then conducts away the packed bale.
