Use of a tetracycline compound, for example doxycycline, is disclosed to be for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of acne in a human. The medicament is described to be formulated for administration without a bisphosphonate compound. The amount of tetracycline compound is to be effective to treat acne, but to have substantially no antibiotic activity.
