Detection of mutations in the flavin-containing monooxygenase (FMO3) gene

A polypeptide which is a flavin-containing monooxygenase 3 (FMO3) comprising at least a sequence that has at least 85% identity with the polypeptide sequence SEQ ID NO:15. Also described is an isolated nucleic acid comprising the polypeptide, a set of primers for amplifying the nucleic acid and methods for detecting a mutation in the FMO3 gene of an animal.
