In one embodiment, a method comprises determining whether two blocks are neighbouring blocks, determining whether the two neighbouring blocks are both subdivided, if the two blocks are neighbouring blocks; performing deblocking filtering on one or more edge pixels of the two neighbouring blocks, if it is determined that both of the two neighbouring blocks are not subdivided.
