METHOD FOR INTRAOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS OF IMPAIRED BARRIER FUNCTION OF INTESTINE IN ACUTE ILEUS

The method for the intraoperative diagnosis of the impaired barrier function of the intestine in the acute ileus provides for clinical diagnostic measures. Ion addition, the patient drinks 1% aqueous solution of methylene blue and 0.1 g of Tetracycline hydrochloride in 30 mL of 0.5% sodium bicarbonate. The same solution is administered with the aid of the enema. After the preoperative preparation, the laparotomy is performed under anesthesia. The blue exudate is indicative of the impaired barrier function of the intestine. Upon the illumination of te operative field with UV Lamp, the maximum of luminescence is recorded. These sites represent the foci of the most intensive infection within the peritoneal cavity.
