The invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to methods for measuring of ice-loading near overhead transmission lines. The measuring device includes an ice-loading measurement rod installed on a strain gage force sensor. The device also includes a rumbometer protected from ice-covered ground influences and a turning module connected with the strain gage force sensor. The module consists of a motor and a device for measuring angle of rotation, placed in protective body with an electrical heating The ice-loading measurement rod may be installed in perpendicular to the dominated wind direction due rotations based on control module commands according to rumbometer indications. The invention allows rising of glaze-ice and rime deposition revealing efficiency and accuracy of weigh measuring.
