摘要

The proposed method for calibration of a liquid level transducer used in a measuring system implies measuring the level by reflectometry and consists in sounding the surface of the liquid by high-frequency acoustic pulses, receiving the acoustic pulses that are reflected from the irregularities in the liquid by the detecting element, measuring the time intervals between the transmission of the sounding pulses and the reception of the corresponding reflected pulses, and determining the level of the liquid by the value of the said time intervals. To generate irregularities in the liquid, electrical conductors are used that are arranged in the detecting element and short-circuited in points that are located along the length of the detecting element. The proposed device for the realization of the method contains a detecting element with two insulated electrical conductors, a sounding pulse generator, a pulse receiver, an amplifier, an analog-to-digital converter, a comparator, a computing unit, and a display unit. The proposed method and device provide a possibility to decrease the measurement error and increase the response speed of the level transducer.
