Polyurethane elastomer obtained by reacting di, tri, or polyisocyanate, polycarbonate diol and di, tri, or polyalcohol such that the polycarbonate diol is 2-alkyl-1,3-propanediol, 2,2-dialkyl-1,3-propanediol, alkoxylated 2-alkyl-1,3 propanediol and/or alkoxylated 2,2-dialkyl-1,3-propanediol and/or is a diol comprising units from at least two 1,3-propanediols, where alkyl is a linear or branched aliphatic alkanyl having 1-8C and the alkoxy group is ethoxy, propoxy and/or butoxy having 1-20 alkoxy units.
