DESCRIBED an alloy composition ROLLER indefinite chill carbon containing in the range of 2.5 to 4.0 wt% alloy and carbon is present as free graphite in a amount in the range 2-7 %, preferably 3-6% TOTAL CARBON. BESIDES the composition includes niobium in a range of 0.3 to 6.0% it is present essentially as discrete particles of niobium carbide in the alloy. The present invention also includes a breastplate ROLLER TEMPLE formed from alloy and produced by a method comprising the steps of obtaining a composition CASTING ROLLER TEMPLE INDEFINIDO, adjusting the composition by adding niobium ENOUGH TO PRODUCE A LOT melt containing 0.3 to 6.0% niobium based on the total weight of the CAST LOT, provide an amount stoichiometric EXCESS carbon to form niobium carbide and mold LOT TO FORM THE ARMOR CAST ROLLER TEMPER. THE METHOD OF THE INVENTION THIS MAY BE USEFUL TO BE A ROLL OF TEMPLE INDEFINIDO CONTAINING AMOUNTS SIGNIFICANT CARBUROS other elements that form carbides with low solubility CARBUROS close to the point eutectic iron alloy while maintaining sufficient free graphite in the aLLOY FOR PRODUCING AN aLLOY WITH REQUIRED PROPERTIES FOR ROLLER APPLICATIONS TEMPLE.
