A process for regenerating used petroleum oils by extraction with aliphatic solvents, characterized in that the method comprises, after the extract solvent removed, the steps oils: a) sudden vaporization ( "flash") continuous or near atmospheric pressure to air, to separate the light fractions in the presence of small amounts of a basic compound or a reducing compound or a mixture of both. b) Continuous distillation in a fractionating column of the bottom liquid obtained in stage a) under moderate vacuum and temperatures; in the presence of a basic compound or a reducing agent or a mixture thereof; with recirculation from the bottom of the column to supply the same; separating, as lateral extractions vacuum gas oil or spindle oil and the lubricant bases and fuel-oil bottom of the column or asphaltic component.
