The invention relates to three chimeric genes the first of which codes synthase ACID dihydrodipicolinic (SDHDP), which is sensitive to inhibition by lysine is operably linked to a sequence of chloroplast transit PLANT, THE SECOND OF WHICH encodes a lysine-rich protein, and the third of which encodes A LISINA ketoglutarate reductase PLANT, ALL STATES TO operably regulatory sequences specific to plant seeds. Also they presented methods for their use to produce increased levels of lysine in the seeds of transformed plants. Also supplied PLANTS CORN, SOYBEAN AND RAPE IN WHICH THE SEEDS TO ACCUMULATE LISINA higher levels than untransformed plants.
