COMPOSITION OF AZADIRACTIN, INDIAN AZADIRACTIN EXTRACTS, COMPOSITIONS AND ITS USES AS INSECTICIDES.

Process for purifying a composition containing azadirachtin without gum and comprising the steps of: (a) crushing the lobster nuggets to form particles; (b) soak the said particles in a monohydroxylated aliphatic alcohol; (c) separating said particles and reducing the volume of said aliphatic monohydric alcohol by evaporation; (d) mixing a liquid halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon to said reduced volume of the alcohol to form a two phase mixture; (e) separating said phase of the halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon and the lower phase containing the insoluble material and drying to obtain a residue; (f) suspending said residue in a liquid aliphatic hydrocarbon; (g) remove from it the precipitates containing azadirachtin and (h) dry to obtain the composition containing azadirachtin.
