The invention relates to a camptothecin analog, characterized in that the hydroxy lactone of camptothecin is a 'beta'-hydroxy lactone or the corresponding' beta'-hydroxy acid, resulting from the opening of this lactone, or a derivative of this' beta'-hydroxy acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and in particular of the compounds of general formula (I) and (II).
