METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY OPTIMIZING THE SELECTION OF MATERIALS AND BLEND RATIOS IN MIXTURE DESIGN

A new application of material and blend ratio selection is proposed for thedesign ofnew materials. The invention consists of: (1) design of blending experimentsusing rawmaterial property data information, (2) mixture modeling using raw materialpropertydata information and (3) simultaneous optimization of the selection of thebest rawmaterials and their blend ratios using the mixture models. This inventionprovides a newstrategy to speedily achieve target products having specified properties withminimumexperiments and minimum total material costs.
