[PROBLEMS] An inspection device for a headrest return prevention mechanismthat moves forward in a rear collision and, at a position where the headrestsupports the head of a seated person, prevents the headrest from returning.[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An inspection device (1) for inspecting aheadrest return prevention mechanism (50) having a bracket (52) and anengagement section (51) capable of returning to a normal position after it isdisplaced from that position to a fixed position. The inspection device (1)has a base (11), a clamp mechanism (12) for fixing the bracket (52) to thebase (11), a load application mechanism (13) for applying a load to theengagement section (51) to move it from the normal position to the fixedposition, a displacement sensor (14) for measuring the fixed position when theengagement section (51) is displaced from the normal position to the fixedposition, and a computer (15) for determining whether the engagement section(51) has moved to the predetermined fixed position based on the fixed positionmeasured by the displacement sensor (14). A defective product where theengagement section is not displaced to the predetermined fixed position can beaccurately determined.
