The present invention is directed to an agonist or antagonist of BMPRII which is useful in the modulation of folliculogenesis and ovulation rate in female mammals. The present invention may be useful in fertility treatment whereby folliculogenesis and ovulation rate is increased, or may be useful to reduce folliculogenesis and ovulation rate by inducing sterility and/or contraception.
