The invention relates to a magnetic bearing device (12) comprising radial, soft magnetic rotor disk elements (7i) which engage in each other and soft magnetic stator disk elements (7i). Said elements (4i, 7i) are provided with teeth-like extensions (4f and/or 7f) which are arranged opposite to each other over an air gap (8k) on sides which are oriented towards each other. Means (7m) such as permanent magnets (7m), which produce magnetic fields, are assigned to the stator disk elements (7i) in order to produce a magnetic maintaining flow (Mf1) which is oriented in an axial direction between the disk elements (4i, 7i) for radial adjustment.An electromagnetic winding (9) is also provided in the region of the central plane (me) of the bearing device (2) for axial adjustment, which enables a magnetic control flow (Mf2), which superimposes the magnetic maintaining flow (MF1), to be produced.
