The electromagnetic drive has a rotor formed by coils and a passive rotor as two soft iron parts with periodic structures forming pole divisions. The poles are stimulated in a sequence that produces a continuous force in the desired direction of rotation. The rotor has more than one flyweight element (5a-5c), each with a magnetic field (6a-6c), offset axially and radially and fixed on a drive shaft (4) so as to rotate with it.
