A method, a device and a system for writing to a reproducible and unfmali-zed disc. The method comprises the following steps: writing data to the disc (201); calculating the length of the metadata at least partly according to the position where to be written (202); determining the content of the metadata at least partly according to the data format and/or the physical format of the disc (203); and recording the metadata on the position following and adjacent to the data on the disc (204). Said device comprises a disc loader (520) for writing data to the disc and recording the metadata on the position following and adjacent to the data on the disc; and a recorder (530) for transmitting the data to the disc loader (520) and calculating the length of the metadata at least partly according to the position where to be written. The present invention allows the user to view and/or enjoy the content of the video at any time without requiring finalizing the disc (for example, it isn't necessary to record in the lead-in zone of the disc). The user can record additional data on the unfinalized disc, so that the space of the disc can be utilized sufficiently.
