QUANTIFICATION METHOD FOR TOXIC AND TERATOLOGIC COMPOUNDS IN ZEBRAFISH EMBRYOS

A method of quantifying the amount of a compound taken up by an in vivo system comprises the steps of (a) incubating a zebrafish embryo with the compound; (b) washing said embryo one or more times; (c) dissociating said embryo; and (d) quantifying the amount of said compound or a derivative of said compound associated with said dissociated embryo. The methods are useful in correlating a phenotype with the amount of compound taken up by an in vivo system, for example, in assessment of toxicity.
