A method of promoting fruit setting of a cultivated plant characterized by comprising controlling the temperature of a part of the cultivated plant affecting fruit setting within a temperature range that falls within the growth temperature range of the cultivated plant and is appropriate for the fruit setting. The above problem is solved by, in particular, a method of promoting fruit setting of a cultivated plant characterized by comprising cooling the flower clusters of the cultivated plant body under development so as to maintain them within a temperature range appropriate for the fruit setting; and an apparatus for promoting fruit setting of a cultivated plant characterized by having a means of controlling the temperature of a part of the cultivated plant affecting fruit setting within the growth temperature range of the cultivated plant or within a temperature range that is appropriate for the fruit setting.
