This method of manufacture involves a step of securing a concertina-folded filter medium (12) to two air-ducting longitudinal flat walls (13) more or less perpendicular to the folds of the filter medium (12). It involves a preliminary step of overlapping an elongate stiffening member (14) of substantially U-shaped cross section over one fold of the filter medium (12). Each end (14E) of the stiffening member (14) is secured to a corresponding longitudinal wall of the duct during the step of securing the filter medium (12) to the two longitudinal ducting walls (13).
