The present invention relates primarily to the use of certain (formyl, hydroxymethylene and nitrile) derivatives of bicyclo[4.3.0]nona-3,7-diene, to some novel compounds themselves, as well as articles such as fragrance and aroma mixtures (fragrance and aroma compositions) comprising an (organoleptically effective) amount of this substance or these substances, the respective use thereof as fragrance or aroma (mixture), and methods for preparing the derivatives of bicyclo[4.3.0]nona-3,7-diene.
