The invention relates to a travel sensor (10) for electronic components for use in aircraft. Said travel sensor comprises a vibration sensor (11) for converting structure-borne noise to electrical vibration signals. A filter device (20) receives the vibration signals and determines the percentage of engine noise of an aircraft and the overall noise in the vibration signals. A comparator (30) compares the engine noise with the overall noise and generates, based on the result of comparison, a travel state signal representing a defined travel state of the aircraft. Electronic components aboard the aircraft are controlled in such a manner that an emission of disturbing electromagnetic waves is prevented in the 'travel' state.
