Grh5 GENE CAPABLE OF IMPARTING INSECT RESISTANCE TO RICE PLANT AND USE THEREOF

摘要

The object is to identify Grh5 which is a gene capable of controlling the insect resistance in a plant and to utilize the gene. For the purpose of isolating a green rice leafhopper-resistance gene Grh5, a high precision mapping for Grh5 is performed and a Grh5 gene located on chromosome 3 is identified. Thus, disclosed is a Grh5 gene having a function of imparting an insect resistance to a plant. Also disclosed is a method for improvement of a plant into an insect-resistant plant cultivar. An example of the plant to be improved is a rice plant.
