The holder, made e.g. from an injection-moulded plastic material, consists of a support with a hook and two square-section shanks (16, 17) projecting downwards from it, shaped to receive two flexible clamps (71, 72) that can be set in at least two different positions (8, 9) at right angles to one another. The clamps are used to grip the sides of a pair of slippers or the toe caps of a pair of mules, so they can be suspended vertically from a display rail with their toes pointing downwards.
