The invention relates to an electrochemical compensation oscillator for the biological protection of living organisms. The invention consists in: analysing (10, 18a, 20a, 22a) a first signal corresponding to electromagnetic radiation emitted by the apparatus (124); producing (6, 8) a second signal which is different from the first signal, involving the inversion of at least one signal parameter; and applying (12, 18b, 20b, 22b) the second signal, in the form of electromagnetic radiation, to the compensation medium (4). The aforementioned inversion can be performed in relation to at least one of the following signal parameters, namely: phase and polarity of the back wave. In addition, the inversion can be performed by digitally processing (8) the signal. The invention also relates to a support containing a quantity of medium thus treated, which is intended to be solidly connected to a polluting radiation source apparatus, and to one such device which is equipped with said support.
